ometv.us: one-on-one video chat, ready when you are

ometv.us is a one-on-one video chat you use in your web browser. You talk with one person at a time, face to face, with both cameras on. You can let the site pair you with someone at random, or look at who's online and call the person you choose. It works the same on a phone and on a computer, and there's nothing to install.

It's also a site in its own right. ometv.us is run independently: it isn't OmeTV, and it isn't an online edition or a copy of OmeTV either. The account you make here, the coins you buy here and the people you follow here exist only on ometv.us.

Using ometv.us online takes a few taps. The first time through looks like this:

A random match is the fastest way in: you don't look at anyone first, the next person who's free simply joins. It's a cam chat from the first second — your camera is on, and so is theirs. Choosing from the list takes a little longer but means you know who you're calling before the call starts.

During a call you can mute your mic, switch your camera off and on, and flip between front and back cameras on a phone. There's a message box too, and the other person's messages can be translated into your language with a tap.

See who's up is the list of people who are online at that moment, each shown with a photo and a name. The people you can call are women. Someone marked as busy is already in a call — try again a little later or pick someone else.

Each of them sets her own rate for a direct call. A random match works differently: it costs a set rate, whoever joins. Either way you get a notice before any charging starts (more on that in 05 · Paying).

The list changes all day. Who's online at lunchtime isn't who's online at midnight, so if nobody catches your eye, look again later or let a random match decide. You can also narrow it down by country or language — more on that in ometv.us girls.

Most people who search "ome tv online" want to open a page and be on camera a moment later. That's how ometv.us works: it runs in the browser you already have — Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox — with no plugin and no extra software.

• Nothing to download. On a phone you can add ometv.us to your home screen so it opens like an app — see ometv.us on your phone.
• No profile needed to start. You can get matched and see who's up straight away.
• Sign in later, when you need it. Buying coins, following people and your settings need an account.

Opening ometv.us and looking around is free. New accounts may get some free matches or a little free call time; how much is set automatically for each account, so we don't promise a number.

After that, calls are paid with coins. A random match costs a set rate. Calling someone directly costs the rate she has set. Before charging starts you get a notice, so a call never begins costing money without you knowing — and if your coins run low during a call, you're asked whether to add more before the time runs out.

Coins you buy here sit in your ometv.us wallet, which you can open and check at any time. They belong to this site only and have nothing to do with OmeTV.

This part is about what ometv.us does for safety. It isn't a verdict on any other service.

A few habits keep you safer on any video chat: don't give out your phone number, home address or social media accounts; don't move a conversation to another app because someone asks; and keep anything personal — mail, documents, the view from your window — out of the frame. If someone pushes on any of that, end the call and report them.

A ban on OmeTV is OmeTV's decision, and only OmeTV can review it. ometv.us has no access to OmeTV accounts, so we can't lift an OmeTV ban or tell you why it happened. If you're looking for how to get unbanned on OmeTV, the place to ask is OmeTV itself.

On ometv.us, these get an account removed:

• being under 18;
• pretending to be someone else;
• harassing, threatening or insulting people;
• explicit or indecent content on camera;
• steering people to other platforms or apps;
• using another account to get around a removal.

An account that has been removed can't be registered again. If you think yours was removed by mistake, write to us and we'll take another look.

If it's OmeTV that won't open, that's down to OmeTV's side — we have no way to check it.

Omegle launched in 2009 and shut down in November 2023. The wish behind it hasn't gone anywhere: plenty of people still want to open a page and talk to someone new on camera, and a number of services offer that. OmeTV is one of them, run by a different company, on ome.tv and in its own apps.

ometv.us is another, separate website with its own way of doing it: every call is one-on-one, everything happens in the browser, and the coins you pay with sit in a wallet you can check whenever you like.

ometv.us is run by its own team. It doesn't belong to OmeTV, it has no licence or permission from OmeTV, and it has no dealings with the company that runs OmeTV. It isn't OmeTV in a browser tab, and it will never ask you for the password to an account on another app.
